Lumbar Radiculopathy

Pressure on a nerve roots in the lower back resulting in varied symptoms based on which nerve root is affected.

Symptoms

Symptoms vary and depend on the nerve root affected but may include:

  • sciatica

  • shooting pain in leg

  • incontinence

  • sexual dysfunction

  • paralysis

Causes

Lumbar Radiculopathy can be caused by:

  • a herniated spinal disc

  • bone spurs due to trauma or osteoarthritis

  • aging
